India can get silver medal if there is any competition for increasing Population.
70% people are depending on Farming in India and they are poor so they even can't think about sports.
Indian government doesn't give a damn about Indian sport. the people who want to make a career in sports have to pay higher fees for training and most of them can't afford it and give up.
i myself want to play professional badminton but here in my city u can only get a good coach if you are rich.
Indian eople are afraid of making career in sports because there is no support from Government.
That's a shame for India.
Same for Pakistan :(
Brother, India and Pakistan both have other problems in life going on, they just don't care about playing other sport other than cricket.....both countries are utterly poor, but India is richer but the thing is Indian athletes doesnt have any suppOrt
In order for India to excel, the Olympics need to add Telemarketing and Call Centre events to the games.
For each athlete that wins there are dozens in each Games who do not – it stands to reason.
It is equally obvious that each contestant (Indian or not) had reached the standard required by the IOC before they could compete and they should be be congratulated for that.
It is shameful that anyone should use their dedication and effort to score cheap national and political points.
Many talented people in India, maybe thousands and lakhs of em' but they don't have that capital/money with them to show their talent to the people. Compared to other countries who sent about 400-500 participants, India only spent about 50 of them. So the difference is huge and devastating. So you know who to blame... :\
I would say that the Olympics don't matter to the common working person in the world. Poverty and corruption are the true shames.
Sports are not big there. Kind of like badminton ... thats a backyard beer and food event, not a sport. Apparently china thinks it is.

Isn't it a huge shame & embarrassment for a civilization called India which has population greater than all the individual continents in the world except Asian continent to just end up with few pieces of silver & bronze in Olympics (with not even a single Gold medal)??????
