I can do a front walk over, back walkover, right, left leg and centre leg splits, hand stands and cartwheels. Figure skating also helps my balance and stamina.

Go for it! I know how you might feel because I'm 14 and I want to start dancing but only because it will help me with cheer. I want to cheer in college and I believe the only thing holding me back is my dance skills so I'm going to sign up and you should too! Well gymnastics I mean. Don't wait any longer! You might regret it later if you don't start now!
I don't think it's too late, I mean you said you're pretty flexible. But you'll need a lot of dislipine and perserverance. And it probably won't be easy at first but if you work hard you'll be able to get to where you want to be. I hope you do gymnastics! :D
Its not too late! You won't have to start as beginner since you already know how to do most important things
It's not too late! If your just doing it for recreation then you'll be fine.
