There not really that big, it's mostly pads. Like hockey. It's also not boring if you understand the rules and objectives, like any other sport (even traditional football). The shape of the ball makes it easier to throw and drop kick just like rugby. American football is played in places outside America too. Canada, Mexico and other countries also have leagues.
Any sport that you don't personally play or have any knowledge in can be called boring. If you don't know anything about American Football which you obviously don't then you shouldn't insult it because that proves your ignorance. I personally think basketball sucks and is boring but that's just because I don't follow it and I suck at the sport itself.
