I have a fear of going backwards?

well i am a gymnast and i just started up again and i lost all my confidence i taught myself everything i know and i am working on more difficult skills like back handsprings. So what should i do about my fear

Start by doing things your comfortable with. For example, do some on the tumble track or an action pit. Once you feel your ready to move on, you can't go halfway, if you decide your next step is on the floor with spot, you can't bail. From there you have to continue to push your self in a positive direction until you have it! Ip it if you bail, you need to go back and start over.

I hope this helps!

Until you got it down have a coach help support your back as you try it. You can do it over padding for safety. In skating they have a bungee harness to help. Not sure if they have that for gymnastics but I think they do.

Be carefull, my girlfriend was a top state gymnest but hurt her back and neck on the balance beam. Unfortunately hockey is more up my alley.

The fear will go away if you have a coach and you know u r doing things safe.

Pretend ur a bird high up in the sky feel the air breath the air once in the air turn like u just say Kim kardashin in ur bed

Just let go of your fears and do what you know you need to
