Join a swimming cub and let them be the judge. Regardless of what happens you should try to be the best that you can be. Don't give up and always strive to improve. One day you could be standing on that podium, or just wearing a finishers medal from a swimming event, either would be an accomplishment.
I'm 16 and about to pursue my dream to be an olympic cyclist, so no,vits not too late, go for itt! Don't listen to anyone who tells you any differentt, because they are just jealouss. You can't let talent go to waste, or dreams, change happens, and by 2016 your time will have changed a lot, just stay focused, see you in Rio ;)
i disagree with the ''years in training'' post above.
if i spend 10 years learning piano i can compose as good as someone that spent 20 years.
a sonata is a sonata.
swimming is swimming. as long as you train hard and stick to it you can get to that level.
some people only trained for a year.
if you stuggle to get to the level than after a year or so maybe you decide not to carry on.
but you never know untill you try.
Of course it's possible but u must strive
i have the same dream..
Well none of you have answered my other question but my phone isn't working so you might have and on that case thank you so much bit I have dreamed of being an Olympic swimmer ever since I was about 5 but I have never been serious enough but the London 2012 Olympics have inspired my to atleast try I'm 13 so is that to old to start? What is the qualifying time for 100m? How do you qualify for the Olympics? Is this dream even possible? Thanks this is also for my grandad who passed 5 years ago he was such an inspiring man and always encouraged me to do my best in everything he was the only one who knew I wanted to be a swimmer no one else I hope one day I can make him proud!
