Lifting weights does not make you shorter! The reason most olympic lifters are short is because the shorter you are the shorter your arms are (generally) and so the less distance you have to lift the weight so shorter people are at an advantage when it comes to lifting heavier! That's one of the reasons Kevin Durant struggled so much at the NBA Draft Combine when trying to bench because since he has such insanely long arms he had to lift the weight higher than other players. As for jumping rope, no it doesn't make you taller it will just improve stamina and your fast twitch muscle fibres. At your age whatever gender you are your height is fine!!! You will grow don't worry buddy I was the shortest and smallest kid till I was 17 and then I shot up past my classmates and friends and now at 19 I am still growing at a pretty good rate! Everyone grows at different times of their life. Men grow till 21 (Leonardo DiCaprio grew till 24!) and women can grow till 18-19!
I think you are just a little person who maybe growing even as we speak? Different people grow at different times in their lives and for your own self do what you want for exercise and workouts. Anyway weights give you added muscle to your bones. jump rope is for conditioning and also adds definition to your muscles. Relax enjoy your workout and exercises. What it does is only good for you.
Speechless... just... oh my god. Just... kid... Kid, I am 19 now. I have been working out since I was 11. I go really heavy. Guess what though? I was 5'1 when I started working out (again at 11 years old), and now I am 6'5. I don't jump rope. Does that answer your question?
This is the WRONG PLACE to post this. It belongs in the diet and fitness section, not HERE. This is horse racing.
