My friends and I always go around my neighborhood, but recently we started skating. We do the same stuff, but now, we get dirty looks and the finger from every other car. We don't skate when crossing the street, or do anything particularly dangerous. Why do people get pissed at us for no reason?

I "skate" aka I longboard. See just cause we have long hair, are 14 years old or more, and usually listen to the emo genre of music, people mistake us for stoners who do stupid stuff.(the stupid stuff is me but not on a board) Or they think that we think we own the place just cause we got a board. It's like that EVERYWHERE! Even in the morman state of Utah. (I live here sadly) but dude you'll get Criticized and crap but just ignore them. Skating is fun, and it actually has been proven to relieve stress. It defines us. So just give em the finger back and live your life.

I have long hair and my dad says I look like a stoner. I also skateboard.im not a stoner bye the way. and im 14. I think the general steryotype and public assumption is that all teens are evil. and when males have long hair people don't like it. also skateboards are associated with graffiti and drugs. if it weren't for the select few people who are punks nd skateboard then we would not have to suffer. so really, just watch your back. have fun. peace. they arent giving you dirty looks. you arent aware but you are in a tv show. everyone else is your rival. they are doing that weird stare because you know that shot where it shows a their eyes and its basicly a stare off. and the ones who are pointing at you are showing the others how cool you look

it has to do with the fact the most of them correspond with the male genitalia.
