Why do I suck at skateboarding so bad :(?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
Well, first of all I'm 13, and a girl, so I guess it's my natural instinct to suck so badly.

Well, for one, I customized my board for cruising. The wheels are larger, the bearings are more smooth, etc. this was my first time making a skateboard so, I guess I just picked out the deck because, I liked the design. My deck is really squeaky, and whenever I turn it creaks all the time. I guess it's really flexible on the trucks so whenever I turn, or push off I always fall over or trip because it turns way to easily. I think I've gotten turning and stuff down, but I'm still not confident enough to ride it to school. I get so nervous when I go over a curb to cross the street, so I'll probably fall on my face in front of everyone. I have trouble positioning my feet quickly on top of my board, so instead if keeping on going, I usually come to a halt and have to re position myself. I tried doing an Ollie but I was no near close to doing it, and like I said, my board turns easily and tips over, so I'll probably never be able to do a trick on this board, and my mom won't get me a new one. :( what do I do? I don't want to look like a poser, but I really want to know how to skateboard.

Hi i don't want so seem rude but don't listen to "Joseph the Second".

Ok now, your trucks move from left to right to easily because they are to loose, try to tight them down untill you feel much better while riding. With time you'd feel core confident when riding infront of people.

Well what else, i'm pretty sure that you've hear this a lot of times but.... Practice is the secret.

Practice, practice and practice. I've been skating for a few years now. And at the beginnin when i stared it also took me a lot of time to place my feet fast in order to ollie over somthing (or any other trick).

But with the time i got better and better, now i can be rinding and if suddenly a dog comes in my way i can place my feet fast enought to ollie over it so that i won't hurt it. With the time you'd get more control of your board. For the moment i can't think of any other tips but... Good luck.

Being young, and being a girl only mean that you are a young girl. You are neither bad nor good. Although, when it comes to skating youre a bit inexperienced.

Go ahead and tighten your trucks a bit. Once your balance is better you can just suit them to your needs again.

Also try just riding down an easy safe hill to get used to riding. Just keep riding in general. I spent one hour for a week in ”skate camp” I went to a school yard and just kept practicing all the basic skills I knew I would need. My first ride to school as shaky, but it's been two ears and I just kind of glide over everything. Except stone, I hate brick si

The single thing that makes skating so cool is how much freedom it brings. Dont think about other people's opinion. You chose this for yourself, so go out and enjoy yourself. Youre free now.

ok so the reason that your trucks are turning so much is probably cause they are loose... there is one big nut on each truck. just find a wrench that fits and tighten the nut a bit. keep tightening it untill it is stable enough for you. this stability will make it easier for you to ride. also its not your deck thats squeaky. its also your trucks. i dont know why but it happens with one of the trucks i have. its not an issue. just a noise. oh and also... when you go over a curb. either get off the board- or use your legs. bend your knees so that your lower body moves but not your upper body. this way you wont fall easily. it takes time to figure out. everyone sucks at first. i sucked for my first whole year.

Never ever limit yourself because of your age. And skateboarding is not something that is just for guys. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in there since I know nothing about skateboarding, but I do know a lot about age and the box society tries to put it in.

Try practicing on grass, and tighten your trucks, it's a skateboard not a longboard

Not EVERY-Body's good at EVERY-Thing ! Maybe Skiing or Snowboarding is more Your "Thing" ! :)

shut up all ready and PRACTICE
