You "saved" the woman. You achieved your goal in defending your self against two men, and you came out relatively unscathed.
So no, you haven't let your teacher down. Just continue practicing and don't let things like this get to you. I have been in several fights and haven't won them all. That is the common risk and fact in fighting. You won't win them all.
personally, i dont think you have failed anyone by trying to defend someone like that. even if all you did was take a class 3 *** whooping from the 2 guys you still did something that most people would pass on which i am sure your teacher would be proud of.
put it this way. with 2 mo of training under your belt you still have a long way to go. but in that 2 mo you built the confidence to take on 2 people in the defense of someone else which is nothing to be ashamed of, and the will power to stand back up when knocked down and continue facing them.
your teacher honestly wont be all that concerned with the fact that you forgot some of your training. fighting isn't about remembering what to do, but training your body to do it without thought, like walking or running, your body naturally knows how to react.
just keep training, and you will get better :)
Don't worry about it....The thing is that martial arts are suppose to help you in an indirect way as well...You do not need to do things in each situation as you do in training...Your straight punches may be somehow fatigue from training, so other things came to play....
Don't worry, Two months isn't long enough for your training to have become second nature or "instinctual." Like any other martial art it will take a lot more practice for it to become automatic enough to you where you aren't really thinking, only reacting to the situation.
You should start training and you fought for a right reason, to save someone, to stop eve teasing its really cool.
Punches can fail but headbutts cannot...use headbutts next time to the nose but 2 months is definately not enough time to learn what u need to know for a street fight like u described :( keep at it friend
KW beat me to it.
yesterday evening i saw 2 guys around my age i.e 23 years were eve teasing a girl. so i tried to stop them and thats how i entered into a fight. now i have been a student of krav maga for more than 2 months now and i practise straight punches almost everyday. but during the fight i was doing 360 punches instead of straight and that is why i got punched on the jaw and i fell. But i immidiately got up again and then i used legs and i cant remember most of it. all i remember is that i kicked one guy on the stomach area and the other one got hit by one of my punches and then i was bashing my knee into his stomach region like crazy like 7 or 8 times and he fell. my question is that after 2 months of training of straight punches every single day carrying extra weight of 2 kgs on each hand, i still wasnt able to use it in a real fight why? this question is eating me. this was my first hand to hand fight of my life. is it not in me to fight? have i let my teacher down? i dont know how will i tell my teacher that i wasnt able to use straight punches.
