Question about men gymnastics vault?

I am assuming he means you are not afraid to hit the horse hard, and get a good 'bounce' off of it. I'd say it's a compliment. A portion of awarded points do come from amplitude (height and distance) after all. I really can't imagine 'bouncer' being derrogatory (in vault).

Why not just ask your coach/trainer what he/she meant by it ?
