Are Olympic medals solid?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I mean gold, silver, bronze. What do you think?

I assume you mean are they pure gold? No, they're not. There's only about 6 grams of gold in the gold medal, the rest is mainly silver with some copper in it. The silver is mostly silver and the bronze is mostly copper with a little bit of tin in it.

Solid yes but not solid Gold no way

I asked very smilar question few days ago. In my understanding, Olympics should give solid (real) medals to the winners.

They are, a hollow medal would be too fragile

Do you think the medal is liquid or gas? (Just a joke)

From my most intense scientific observations they are neither liquid nor gas.

I heard that they're chocolate.

No, they are a gas
