I quite like Mustafina but I thought the pre celebration was a bit much but with the disappointment the Russians have been getting in gymnastics during these Olympics couldn't really blame her for being happy at finally winning a gold medal. I feel bad for her teammate though Komova =(
I live on the west coast so the coverage didn't air yet on the uneven bars. But if she did laugh at Gabby that is messed up. There's nothing wrong with swinging at your coach when they try to "comfort" you and you are a 17 year old girl. If she doesn't want to be touched so be it.
This whole emphasis on "maturity" is ridiculous. These girls aren't even over 18 yet and many people on the internet are attacking them for lack of maturity... hypocrisy at its finest. Very mature, going on the internet and attacking a girl's maturity (about the outcome of something they've worked their entire life on) when they're on a computer attacking them
Oh yeah, I'm not directing my comment specifically towards you, I'm talking about in general. It annoyed me when hypocritical idiots were bashing McKayla (USA gymnast) for being immature (when they're hiding behind a computer screen attacking a 16 year old), and it annoys me seeing people bashing Mustafina's (Russian gymnast) maturity.
I'm sure everyone who disapproved of McKayla, Mustafina and Komova's reaction was the model mature teenager at 16-17.
I agree. She is awful. I don't care if her puppy just died that morning and she needed something to cheer her up, she is an Olympian and should hold herself to the highest standards of dignity and respect, for her coaches, for herself and for her fellow competitors. If she were my daughter I would be more embarrassed of her behavior than proud of her accomplishment. Kudos to Gabby Douglas, she was the image of professionalism and graciousness.
She didn't really laugh, but when Gabby didn't do her handstand perfectly, Aliya did turn back to her coach and smiled, knowing she was going to win since they do take a lot if deductions off. If Gabby did better, she would of knocked He Kexin out of bronze.
But yes, i thought it was a bit disrespectful.
She didn't really laugh at Gabby, she just smiled at her coaches knowing she had the gold medal but I do think it was disrespectful. But, McKayla Maroney wasn't the nicest in defeat yesterday, and she got a silver medal. When the girl that got bronze went up to hug and congradulate her McKayla totally blew her off. I guess when your at the top of your sport some tend to be bratty.
Mustafina is the most taalented gymnast out there. She's had. Bad run up until the uneven bars, so I don't think she meant anything bad twoards gabby douglas, she was just happy/excited that she finally won the gold. Plus I'm in love with aliya mustafina so this is a bias answer.
Pfft. my sister makes Mustafina look like an angel. But seriously, it's just the way Mustafina was brought up (and maybe some of her own personality mixed in ) - it's the eastern European mindset
I hope the peeps attack Mustafina as much as they attacked Maroney, not doing so would be pretty hypocritical
In the all-round comp she performed poorly on one of her events and when her coach tried to comfort her, she swung at him to leave her alone. Now, they showed her reaction after Gabby Douglas's mistake on the bars and....she turned around and started laughing. It was so disrespectful and unprofessional, you never see that kind of thing in the Olympic games -- laughing at another athlete's misfortune. What an awful person she must be. Great gymnast, horrible human being.
bigger brat? hmmm maybe Angelica from the Rugrats. It's a very close race. they are probably 1a and 1b in the race for the biggest brat.
I agree
yeah but its kind of entertaining lol
I heard that she had sex with Usain Bolt
