For lacrosse we have pinnies (sleeveless jersey/tank tops) we wear to practice that have 2 sides (defense/offense) and in the heat we have to wear a shirt underneath incase we have to switch our pinnie because god forbid someone is wearing just a sports bra for half a second!
The school says running in a sports bra/even being seen in just a sports bra is "indecent exposure" but the definition of indecent exposure is:
"the crime of intentionally showing one's sexual organs in public."
First off, boobs aren't sexual organs. Second of all, they are COVERED AND HELD DOWN BY SPORTS BRAS. Boys who get aroused by a girl in a sports bra so bad that it "distracts them" are the problem, not the girls. Guys can be shirtless? How is that any different?
How can I get my school to realize this and hopefully adjust the rule?
Your only hope is to get adults involved on your side, religious leaders preferred. Maybe the staff at the YMCA. Women's and/or female coaches at nearby high schools--not necessarily in the same town--colleges, etc.Try the nearest (Gay) Pride center; you don't have to be LGBT to appreciate gender-based stupidity, but it often helps! A letter To-the-Editor at the newspaper may help. (Yes, I know only old people read it; that's who you're trying to reach.)
Assuming they're on your side, get your and the other girls' parents networking on your behalf. A respected employer would make a good ally.
Irrelevant, but it may amuse you: There are schools elsewhere where the *guys* can't run shirtless either, out of an equally silly attempt at gender equality and/or decorum.

It's different to were I come from thought!! We are allowed and in my club we even do the team top in a vest and one like a sports bra! Girls can wear that or a vest and boys are only allowed in a vest! They can't run top less!!

Just tell your school that some clubs let them because mine does!!! I probably live a different country to you because it's always cold where I live!! So you should be allowed to were them if it's hot!! Tell them that you could die of heat stroke!! Haha :-)

Some people got angry and so they made that rule. To change it you will need a lot of people to angrily yell and scream to get it changed.

Welcome to society. No, no, god forbid we tell the boys they need to change their attitude, we need to make sure the girls clothe themselves completely so the boys aren't aroused. "Boys will be boys," right?
