my height is almost 6 foot and 'm thinking that i should start weight lifting. i don't want more height. my age is 16.5 yrs...many people told me that weight lifting has many long lasting side effects...i'm too skinny thats why i want to start weight lifting. ,y plan is to do weight lifting for some time and not to lift heavy weights (not more than 30 or 40 kg) then when i will have good body i will stop weight lifting and will do natural exercise like pull ups, push ups etc..but some one told me that if i'll stop weight lifting then i will become skinny again...can someone tell me that is it a good plan?

You can't control you height. I grew until I was 21 years old. Some males grow for a long time. I think you will probably be 6'2 or 6'3' after you are done growing.

Weighlifting is not good to stop being skinny, you need to eat. Peanut butter is a good weight gainer. It has a lot of calories and protein. It's like a protein shake

i had the same feeling but when i realized that going to the gym will has some really bad effects on my body i just stopped, and the person who told you stopping weight lifting will make you skinny again he/she was right,even if you were 20 ( people who are 20 years old they're body is totally growed ) you shouldn't go to gym cuz some activities in gym will make you lose your good health, makes you lose your height! have you ever seen body builders? they are so short cuz they lost they're height because of using stupid pills or doing something that destroys their body...

start visiting a doctor once or twice a week, the doctor can give you some activities in home like swimming or push ups or... with a good and healthy diet in a healthy way.

i started weight lifting when i was 14 and believe me it improved my physique by almost 50%.weight lifting is very beneficial for the body just as long as you dont overdo it. start with light weights and gradually increase them as you get stronger. 3 times a week to the gym should be good enough. also dont be worried about your height.mine actually increased by 3.5 inches when i started doing it.
