The official languages for the Olympics are English and French...and then tho host Countries language.

Yeah I was confused about that too! I was like, why are they only translating it in french?! (other than English of course). Oh well. Probably because they are neighbors, ya know. Lots of people from France probably visited.
I think it is because they knew a majority of the tourists will be coming from France. They are neighbors.
Why are the Olympics narrated in French? If Canada or France, or even Africa was hosting the Olympics I would understand, but why is French so prominent this year when they're in an all-English speaking country?
I live in Canada by the way, and I do speak French, so I'm not against it or anything, I'm just curious as to why things are announced in French then in English in England of all places.
