Why isn't Football in the Olympics ?

Football, as in soccer is an Olympic sport.

Each sport is voted on by the committee, and must be played by most of the participating countries.

Sports like American football are not played very much outside the U.S. so any tournament would not be possible.

It has nothing to do with being manly or difficult it is strictly a numbers game. Not enough teams or athletes play it on a world wide basis.

Yes, it is very American! I tried selling US Football products around the world for other sport uses, equipment used by our Football players that was great for other sports as well, and I was laughed at many times. "No we will not use a product that the American Gridiron use."

When you have sports like real Football (Soccer) and Rugby, our boys dressed in pads passing a ball around isn't all that impressive.

Lets see only the US plays football. Canada plays Canadian football. So you need more then two countries to play a sport before it can be an olympic sport!

Probably because the USA is the only country that plays it
