Why were sports made?

I was with a group of cave explorers when we came upon

a pair of foot prints in the sandy floor left to right in the T-

Bone junction we entered. The sizes suggested an adult

and a child had gone before us. Around the next turn of

cavern the ceiling had collapsed. We looked high and low

but there was no place to wiggle past. As we had seen no

returning tracks our first conclusions were horrific. We then

back-tracked to discover where they had entered. That led

us to another collapse area. Then we found mineralization

proof the fall had happened ages ago. There was ash and

soot indicating burning torches had been used. Where the

pair had come and gone is unknown but they like us were

there for thrilling discovery. Http://www.caves.org

People needed something to do, so they created them as fun, competitive games. These games would eventually become so popular amongst everyone that they became official entertainment and recognized as official activities, or sports.

To get people who like to play the same thing or as later on called sports , together and to enjoy and befreiend to each other.

To give you a job. Ref little league baseball

To have something to watch or do instead of listening to your wife/girlfriend yapping.

Get rid of obese population. Entertainment. etc...

To compete, make money and most of all entertainment.

to re-oxygenate the brain - the Greeks knew that just learning was boring and that the 'mind can only take in as much as the bum can endure'.

To burn calories ??????
