Would this be an offensive tattoo?

The simple fact is that any tattoo is going to be offensive to some people, you already have tattoos though, so I see that as less of a problem there. I honestly don't think that your design would be offensive to most people or martial artists. Some of them might think it's a little stupid (personal taste and all that) but if you want it and feel it's a good representation of your love of martial arts, go for it. I would also second the suggestion of getting a temporary tattoo of it first to see if you like the design and if it goes well with your other tattoos. It would be a shame having a poorly done tattoo that doesn't fit with your other ones.

I have tattoos but they are not martial arts related.

I would love to have my crest of my martial art tattooed on me, but I think only Black Belts are allowed to do that.

As for the belt with the sais, I do not think it is offensive. But maybe you would feel better if you had a weapon that you are more proficient with tattooed on you.

Or the official crest or logo of Tang Soo Do tattooed on you.

It's your choice, but first, make sure you get a custom temporary tattoo made first to see if you would actually want a black belt around your waist forever. What if you stop practising the art? What about when you're old? Ninja Nanna, anyone?

It's fine to get tattoos, and it's your body but be aware that tattoos are permanent. And no, it's not offensive.

First let me ask if you are studying a Korean Martial art but Okinawan weapons? The sai is the Okinawan weapon which is non-bladed but other versions exist which are bladed or on a staff such as in India. Before you get a tatoo make sure that you are getting what you think it is not what you have been told. Do your research first so you don't feel like you made a mistake in 5 years

As far as a tattoo goes I wouldn't find that offensive, odd but not offensive. I am not sure how the Koreans feel about tattoos, I do know that the Japanese look down on people with tattoos. They consider them a lower class and similar to a criminal. The Yakuza ( Japanese mafia) are associated with tattoos by the Japanese.

I have tattoos so I am not offended by them, but when I participate in anything with the Japanese I have to make sure that they are completely covered.

Jesse for your love and passion for the art I say go for it girl. The tat sounds cool and having what you want is your thing nobody else. I do not believe you will embarrass the art in getting the tattoo you have describe. Good luck for the future.

No, not offensive at all, and it sounds really cool.

The only thing that bothers me is that you don’t have a deep sai training, which means you really don’t have a connection to it. I would suggest holding off on it until you find a weapon that really grabs your heart then get it on you then.

you are crazy in 2 things one for crazy tattoo and the other are tattoo's are no good tou put in you buddy

Don't ruin your body with tattoos. I have four and I regret marking my body at all

GET A PIGEON

So I've studied Tang Soo Do for most of my life, and would love to get a tattoo to represent my love of martial arts. I was wanting to get a tattoo sort of like the gun holster tattoos people have on their thighs, but I want to get a black belt around my thigh with two sais tucked in on the side. The only problem is I'm not extremely well trained in sais, although I have studied them for a few years. I love tattoos and I love karate, I just don't want to be offensive to the art. Thanks :)

Btw, I'm a 23 year old female and a 2nd degree in TSD

Also, this is going under martial arts instead of the tattoo category since I figured I'd get a better chance with answers :)
