What are brass knuckles paperweight?

They are usually cheap, and will result in a broken hand. Brass knuckles are also felony weapons possession, and carry hefty prison sentences in many areas.

Actually I'm going to have to agree with the vendor trying to get around the law thing. I say this because I seen in action before. There was an event and these guys were selling belt buckles in the shape of brass knuckles. However they made sure to include a special feature where the brass knuckles portion of the belt buckles comes off very easily for quick "change of the look of the belt". But really once you take it off the belt the thing was a thin, but fully functional brass knuckle.

I'm against the idea because you can't legally use the thing for defense anyway even if you can legally have it. And you can have an officer stop you and get you in trouble for possession of a weapon if he wanted to. It's kind of gray area so you can't blame the guy if he does. So why bother carry a weapon you can't use and it can still get you in trouble?

@Kokoro there are loop holes that these vendors are taking advantage of. On Texas' law "for the purpose of " means that by the vendor claim it to be for the purpose of decoration rather than "inflicting serious bodily injury or death " they are kind of in the clear. On Cali's law "worn for purposes of offense or defense in or on the hand " means that as long as you design it not to be worn in or on the hand you are also cleared. As soon as a person uses it as a weapon it becomes fully illegal, but while the vendor is selling it the item in question is legal.

first off it doesnt get around the law by calling it a paper weight, it is still illegal to sell them or use them in most states. even on the websites it states this. that is the silly notion i have ever heard. so if i call a handgun a paper weight i can sell it to anyone without even doing a back round check. or better yet i can have a fully automatic riffle and just call it a paper weight.

the term you use does not circumvent the law. it is the physical description of the item that the law looks at even when selling the item.

as for if they are real brass you will have to ask the seller. some are and some are not. but either way they are still illegal.

edit:>

so kw your going to give me 15 thumbs down because of your ego. how sad for you kw. and thanks for the thumbs down from your multiple accounts.

really what ever floats your boat kw.

you have such a sad life that you feel the need to accuse me of having multiple accounts when you have the most here. but what ever help your sad ego kw, considering you gave me 4 thumbs down right away it was no stretch the others were coming from the rest of your accounts. you are so predictable its sad.

perhaps you should learn more about the law and worry less about your ego and conspiracy, but of course you wont.

texas penal code:

Sec. 46.01. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:

(8) "Knuckles" means any instrument that consists of finger rings or guards made of a hard substance and that is designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting serious bodily injury or death by striking a person with a fist enclosed in the knuckles.

califorina penal code

Brass knuckles” (truly called “metal knuckles” in California law – see the new Penal Code section 21810) are illegal. It’s a potential felony to possess metal knuckles. The definition is

any device or instrument made wholly or partially of metal which is worn for purposes of offense or defense in or on the hand and which either protects the wearer’s hand while striking a blow or increases the force of impact from the blow or injury to the individual receiving the blow. The metal contained in the device may help support the hand or fist, provide a shield to protect it, or consist of projections or studs which would contact the individual receiving a blow

almost every states penal code is followed by a description of the weapon. if it was just a matter of wording, the gun manufactures would have a field day.

edit:>

kw you were 5 to 10 thumbs down long before our fight i suppose that was all me as well.

internet sites cant sell to califorina, and they follow state laws. my friend owns a martial arts supple store out in santa ana,and he doesnt sell them either he stated to me years ago he can't sell that and a few other items even if called paper weights.

the only way you can sell brass knuckles legal in many states is to sell them to law enforcement personal. which is the only loop whole to have them in a shop. so you need to learn the law kw.
