Track Questions (The Sport)?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
Alright, so my mom really wants me to do a sport. Well, she wanted me to do ballroom dancing, and I was like HELL NO. And then swimming. Yeah, no. So, I thought, what about track?

Thing is, in seventh grade, last year, I could have done track but I didn't. And now, everyone doing track in eighth grade this year will already know how everything works and such, 'cept me.

I don't know if there are things I should know beforehand about this sport, but could someone fill me in? Like, what distances I can do or something, do i choose, etc etc etc? Thank you so so much. Five stars and best answer for the best answer.

Just do it. Honestly. Don't worry about if you don't know the mechanics. Trackletes are kind. They will become your family and if you need help just ask. They won't hurt you. If you want, try cross country since it's a great workout AND everyone on the team is super super friendly. They are some of the sweetest people I've met! Anyways, just ask to try everything and you'll fall in love with something. Swimming is fun, give it a try.

The coach will tell you everything you need to know.

Besides running there is also jumping and throwing, since you have never done it before you need to try different things until you find what you like and can do best.

don't worry about it you will be fine.

so i do track, and i did it in 7th and 8th grade. one thing that definitely helps, is running a little bit everyday, like a 20 minute jog everyday. Also, do not be late to the first practice. Do what the coach tells you no matter what. he/she is making you better. one last thing, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT a WATER BOTTLE and EXTRA LAYERS just for case. Hope I helped!

Well why ask now when it starts in February?
