1) How much is the tuition a month?
2) What is the agreement?
3) Can I leave at any time?
4) What are his credentials?
Personally, and this is a personal taste, I'd ask him what exactly I would be learning. If I'm learning hyung, poomsae, whatever, what am I expected to be able to learn from that? If his answer is something along the lines of: it's for show, or it's exercise, then don't bother with the school.
Sure, it would be a potential school to consider.
I'm not sure what the agreement covers; you have to read that and figure it out. Same with the tuition.
I'll tell you how the owner sees you: As a person with a million questions, a tire-kicker, someone who isn't really serious. I'm not saying that's correct, but that's how he sees you.
Go in there. Talk to him. See what the deal is. Find out about his background and accomplishments; that's a very important factor in deciding whether to go there.
Hope that helps.
I'm anti contracts, but not all contracts are bad. It is reason to be very cautious.
Personally I would be more cautious after a blanket statement like our tuition rate are competitive. They could have just told you their rates/
You didn't do well either. You should have never told him the fees of your other school. You have given them a benchmark of what to charge you or what you have been willing to pay in the past.
Visit the school and see he quality of the instructor and students. Then determine if it is a good place to train.
Ignore KW he is a fake and a fraud he never even took Taekwon do or any other martial art.
If you don't have to sign anything and the instructor is good then i would look further into it, If its an ATA dojo then avoid them and find anohter place.
You could try and go to it. See if it's actually a good one, as you mentioned it didn't sound like a McDojo... so far.
Sure its a good idea.
There is this New Taekwondo School that is opening near my place. Their studio is still under construction, but they have their practices temporary held at the Local Recreation Center or Outside at the Park..
I emailed the Head Instructor with some questions.. one of the questions I asked was, do I have to sign a contract agreement. He replied that there are No Contracts, but there is an Agreement! I'm kind of skeptical here as a Contract and a Agreement both sound the same to me.. So I'm just try to get a sense of what he's telling me.. I also told him I paid 100 per month at the previous TKD School I attended, and he replied back that they are competitive with their tuition rates!
Would this be a potential TKD school I should look into, or go elsewhere ??
What other questions should I ask him ? will meeting with him tomorrow!
