Mma question about beginners?

When they put that kind of pressure on you, you're forced to adapt and advance naturally over time in sparring they won't be beating you up as bad, they wont be dominating you and at some point you might be dominating them, that's progression. I'd consider myself lucky if I were you.

Your question is a bit hard to follow but from what I've gathered you're in a 'swim or sink' school, that's not such a bad thing because let's face it, if you want anything in a fight you have to make it happen off your own ability. I'd have to see the training at the gym before judging but you can definitely improve at that type of gym. Shop about, maybe you can find another school to begin your training with but keep the current guys in mind, it seems like a great school for application.

That is the most reckless and asinine way to teach that I've ever heard of. You want to go all out, full contact, full force... then go for it - but only when the combatants have learned technique.

All you are learning to do is fight hard, and you are forced to learn your own lessons. Without instruction on proper technique, some people will never learn properly, and will never improve. We all plateau in our workouts. We all need to be told where we are making mistakes. This kind of instruction does nothing but pound into the ground - no learning at all. I wouldn't go to a cesspit like that.

Being tough is a lot different than being smart, or being good.

It's not so much the gym, but the big problem is they have nobody at your level currently. They have to throw you in with the exerienced guys and they're training to fight under extreme stress and resistance. And this gym is not being hardasses, if I'm training with a beginner and see they're not trying or fighting back ill tell them to start trying. I would wait and see if anyone new joins that would make a good partner if not change.

Whats your thoughts on a gym that doesn't really care if your a beginner, an if a trainer see's you being a wimp they kick ur *** an tell u to work through it or they wont let u out. it did make me be tough. but i didnt learn anything except i got mad. i wanna learn technique an i do. but it seems they focus more on toughness an the guys who are already better. can i get better at this gym or should i go to one were i learn technique an spar vs other beginners
