Is table tennis (ping-pong) a sport?

I'm having a discussion with my sister who is 100% sure table tennis isn't a sport. I've been playing table tennis at club level for 3 years and she's been saying it ever since, how can I prove to her that it is a sport? Thanks ! Rob

Ask her how she determines what's a "sport" and what isn't. If she agrees that tennis is a sport, point out to her that table tennis is just played on a smaller court. :-)

Of course it is. If it involves physical movement with high intensity, I believe it is a sport. I think out of all the sports, table tennis requires the highest amount of intensity as the match doesn't last as long as other sports like tennis or football. People who say it isn't a sport because they think all you do is pat a ball over the net with no speed, placement or spin. They haven't experienced it at a higher level. For example, street football/ local park kick about and football on a pitch.

Hi there,

I easily got for free Table Tennis Pro here: http://bitly.com/1qXDrZO

no surveys, no scams, just the full game!

The objective of the game is to develop the ability to hit the little ball back well with your bat. At first it may seem a little difficult to handle because it varies a lot with your mouse’s sensitivity, but don’t worry, with just a little practice you can become an expert in this type of game.

Give it a try.

Whenever these types of questions come up, ask if you "Train" to improve or if you "Practice" to improve. Train and it is a sport, practice and it is a game,.

So:

Runners Train (sport)

Golfers Practice (game)

Snooker players practice

Footballers do both because it is a game of football, but the players are doing a sport.

So

Table Tennis Training

Table Tennis Practice... I suspect it is a game

Its not.

Ask some Japanese people and Koreans that, they'll tell you it definitely is!
