I am a senior and I have cheered all four years of high school. I have cheered for basketball football and I am a completive cheerleader and we are going to nationals this year in florida. My school is not the school that appreciates cheerleading and its because they think it isn't a sport which I don't understand because we compete against other schools we get scored and we have practices so I need to know what you all think about it. Its a touchy subject for me and I don't know if im just being over dramatic???

Unfortunately, when people hear "cheeleading" they associate it with SPIRIT GIRLS. What I mean by that are the highschool cherleaders that do *not* have any tumbling, stunting or jumps in their cheers. The ones with pom poms are mainly there to just be cute, while competitive cheerleading (and serious high school cheer) work their arses off.

It should be but I think competition cheer should def. Be a sport.
