Is it possible to train by my self?

Train and refine what you learned in karate it’ll be much better than self training another style.

Kicking and striking against hard things can give you arthritis from what I hear. Striking against the heavy bag is alright since it has a give.

Strong body parts does not mean more damage dealt. More damage is dealt through correct applications of weight through much practiced skill. Stronger body part just means that that body part will not break upon great stress.(You can have shin of steel and still kick like a little 4 year old.) This will naturally come with training and sparring.

Think of kyu as negative numbers and dans as positive numbers. 3kyu, 2 kyu, 1kyu, 1st dan, 2nd dan… etc. Dans are black belt levels and it goes up to 9th dan.(some styles will have 10th dan, but it’s not traditional) Kyus are below black belt levels.

Just punching and kicking a bag will not improve your combative abilities. Think back to the classes and what kind of drills you practiced. Practice all the ones that you can remember.(Write them down and break it off into days. Don’t try to literally do all in one sitting.) If you want something new then try youtubing for new drills for skills that you already know front to back.

If at brown belt you don't even know the difference between dan and kyu I really question your training.

Yeah, you can blast away at things but that does not make you a fighter. At brown belt one would think you know a little more than just how to hit hard. My green belts do.

Usually I would say that at brown belt you can continue training but looking over your curriculum that you designed and the above two points I would strongly recommend you seek further instructions. Successfully training on your own requires that you know a little more to work on than just blasting a bag.

Yes, you can do damage to your body by hitting wrong at any age and pay for it later in a few years or sometimes decades.

I fully disagree with Jas, you do not have a solid foundation if you were (are?) a brown belt and don't know the differences between KYU and DAN ranks.

Liondancer is right you need to find someone with a clue that can teach you. Something that is willing to look at what you learned and see if you need holes filled in, or if you need to go back much further.

One can kick and hit hard things to condition themselves. I've done it for a dozen years. But one must do it CORRECTLY. And with your lack of understanding, I know you need someone that can evaluate what you know and what you don't before we can say it's a good idea for you to attempt to train and especially before you attempt to condition your hands and shins.

If you continue practicing your basics daily you should have a strong foundation for when you start MA again.

Can you train on your own? Sure you can.

Will it be any good? No.

i used to do karate and now i quite (brown belt 1st dan or whatever they call it), and now i quit because of collage, and i thought that i still need more training because i want to do some kickboxing and MMA after 2 years.

so i just wanted to have strong fist and shin, so is it fine to punch and kick hard things?

i used to do so about a year ago but then someone told me that u might suffer from internal damages when u r older, so i thought that i might try hitting something like a sandbag (though i had in mind some harder things) about 10 times daily for a week, then after a week i will increase the number by 5 and so on.

so is it fine or it is still dangerous? am 19 years old
