Definitely not. I started playing softball when I was 16 and before then I have never been on a team in my life, I wasn't very good, but I had fun. Go for it!
No, age does not matter. What matters is determination. In comparison to your peers and teammates you may behind in your skills, specifically being able to control the ball (is it called dribbling in field hockey) and other things. That takes time. However, this can be overcome by practicing and opracticing. If you know someone is good at the sport, ask them for advice and help. Most people are willing to help, especially given that having a training partner will benefit themselves as well. Do not be scared because of lack of experience. Remember, at one point everyone was a beginner.
14 is not too old to start. I'm the same age and play field hockey and at my school there are many girls planning to try out who have never played. If you know someone who plays, ask them to teach you a bit and give you a few pointers, I'll be helping a few of my friends.
Noo
Absolutely not! Go try out for the team now!! (:
No, 14 is just right!
