I actually won't miss him. I liked Phelps on the 2008 Olympics but since then I've heard about the drugs and him blowing off Olympic practice and driving with his friends to Vegas... Now I'm not much of a fan. I'm glad he got all his medals but now it's Lochtes turn. And we still have a lot of good swimmers left.
I know Lochte is a year old but correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't Phelps' first Olympics the 2000 ones but Lochtes was the 2004? Maybe that has something to do with it?
Well Lochte hasn't accomplished all that Phelps has so he may still feel he wants to do more. I thought it was sweet when they showed the video of his first Olympics and he was walking over wishing his teammates good luck right before they swam. It sucks he is retiring but I'm sure he will enjoy whatever he does next =D
The Olympics will not be the same without him, I hope they can find another superstar like Phelps to ignite the Olympic enthusiasm in Rio.

He is just simply amazing and he will be missed for sure. Great attitude, excellent work ethic and a role model for all the youngsters that want to compete. What's not to like.

Well, now that he's retiring, it got me so upset. He is my most favorite athlete and I love him so much as my idol. He finished with last race in the 2012 Olympics with a gold medal. With 22 medals, 18 of them gold, Michael Phelps has been the most decorated Olympian ever. I teared up when I heard he was gonna retire because he has been a huge inspiration to me and I swim because of him. I really don't understand why he wants to retire. Ryan Lochte is one year older than him and he announced he was gonna be in the 2016 Olympics. I hope Michael Phelps will make a comeback and get back in the 2016 Olympics. So, are any of you guys going to miss Michael just as much as I do ?
