Hurts when I do a "split"?

I cant even have my feet at 90 degrees. I always stand up and have someone hold my foot more me as high as i can without getting hurt and then stay like that for a coupke of seconds. Will that help? ANy tips? I would like to do a split before school starts :)

I could aslso use advice from chearleaders.

Hi there! What you are doing will help, but it just needs practice and patience. Here are some methods that I used to get my splits.

-Use a wall/doorway and push your desired leg against the wall/doorframe, as if you were doing a needle stretch

-Use this stretch on the desired leg; http://prntscr.com/1dtsgw *Make sure your knee is not in front of your ankle (you will hurt your knees)

-Find a wide wall and do a straddle position against it. Get as close as you can! *If you need, you can have a partner push your bum against the wall

-Go into the splits and have a partner hold you down to stretch you out *You WILL be sore, but after the sore part goes away, you will have excellent splits

Splits take time, my friend was able to get one in 2 weeks with stretching everyday! I tried but have up lol. But yea stretching definatley helps. Good one is to sit down and hold onto your right, then left then both for 5 minutes each! Really helps!

Hey there! I'm a cheerleader. I love doing the splits. You might wanna check out some videos on YouTube. You should check out my channel too for tutorials! :) but just keep stretching and go a bit past your comfort zone :)

I cheerlead scene I was 3 and I'm 13 it just takes time and alot of practice just don't push yourself to hard kk : )
