Well....... Let's see. No, Security issues like Atlanta. So good. Good medal haul for the Host country? Check. Financial success? Time will tell. Lot of businesses did not make money. Ticket sales were iffy with empty seats in the first week. Weather? Typical London. TV WAtching? Lot of complaints about NBC in the USA. Did it bring tourists in? Yes.
Overall, I guess it was a success.....
I totally agree!! In London the atmosphere was just awesome and the whole event brought us together as a nation! BRING ON THE PARALYMPICS :)
Indeed it was. Most host countries do show off the best of their country but every Olympics bring together countries and inspire generations.
*Oh yea, quite a success. It's just too bad the world doesn't come together to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and heal the sick. But, by all means, let's hold the Olympics so people can play and idolize the winners. Shame on us humans. What have we done?

Not really.
I am especially impressed by the design of the arenas - blue for swimming, pink for gymnastics, etc. I think the money is well worth spending.
This year there are very few scaldals, disqualifiers or accusations. I think Britain has left a chapter in the history of Olympics which they can be proud of.
