We'll probably get them in rowing, sailing, equestrian and cycling. Perhaps a gold for Rebecca Adlington too.
They should. The running joke was that Brits could only win sports that were played while standing still or sitting in chairs, but then they placed 4th in overall medals in Beijing 2008, (19G,13S,15B), nobody was laughing at GBR anymore.
I would think with GBR hosting the games, they invested in extra training like Canada did when they hosted the Winter Olympics, which along with home-field advantage should pay off in more medals.
However, with hosting the games comes added pressure to succeed. While Canada did their best at home winning the most gold medals, the Japanese choked when they hosted the Winter Games.
Time will tell.
Rebbecca Addlinton is set to win Great Britain gold in the 800m swimming
Sailing would be the biggest advantage as their athletes have practiced their for years and know the terrain better than any other athlete. If not, cycling is the next best hope for them with Chris Hoy.
Cycling and Rowing
