I am 13 and want to start eather gymnastics or karate but don't know if I am to yougn to start if I am what would be a good and active activity for me to do??

I hate it when people so young and say "I am too old". You're not too "old" unless if you are like 70 and you find it hard to walk and raise your hand.

Actually you aren't too old for either of those!! Both of these sports usually have classes for beginners and since you have the mental capacity for improvement, you can become better faster. (Imagine a four year old learning karate for the first time compared to you). But, as gymnastics goes, you might not enjoy it as much because you might not be able to do the "cool" stuff because you don't have as much experience, confidence, or strength. Flexibility is also key. I would highly suggest dance though!! Doing ballet, modern, jazz, musical theatre, or tap might make you better in order to be ready for gymnastics or karate. Dance helps with balance, confidence, core strength, and flexibility. All things needed for gymnastics and karate. Plus, dance is more and more popular these days so they would be more likely to offer teen beginning classes.

For karate, that is a good age.

For gymnastics, that depends. If you are already athletic and flexible and you can get a good teacher, you should be fine. It is too late for you to make it to the 2014 Summer Olympics though.

lol you think you are old? Dude, you are sooo young! I am 21 years old and I just got my yellow-belt in Karate. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my black belt by the time I hit 27, and eventually add more fighting styles.

Of course not! You're never too young to start an activity. It depends on what you want to do. Both activities are fun and active. :)
