how to switch skateboard stance?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
hi, i can skateboard comfortably whilst going down the street/ cruising with my right foot on the board (at the top) and pushing with my left, the problem is, when i drop in on a ramp my stance is left foot at the top and right foot at the back which means after i go down the ramp i cant push faster as i have no balance in my left foot. im looking for someone who overcame or can understand this problem as i really want to fix it

im not sure what you mean by after you go down the ramp you cant push faster? but right foot in the front of the board is called goofy and left foot on the front of the board is called regular. there is a combination of the two called mongo, which is where you push with your front foot instead of your back foot, and it can go either way goofy/regular. but anyways im not sure what your trying to say... if your trying to drop in the same way your cruise which is goofy is just practicing dropping in with your right foot on the front. sorry be more specific next time i can help

There's terms for "right foot in front and left foot pushing", it's called Regular and Goofy;

Regular: Right Foot as front foot, Left Foot as back/pushing foot

Goofy: Left Foot as front foot, Right Foot as back/pushing foot

Anyway, drop in going Goofy, because that's how you cruise around. You always want to do tricks with the stance you're comfortable with. In this case, your Goofy, so you stay Goofy and learn with it.

what i mean is if i were to cruise then try to do a trick whilst cruising i would have to push mongo because i need my right foot at the back when doing tricks
