Where to buy a quality katana for $100-200?

Look at Cheness Cutlery and www.kultofathena.com

My googling skills brought me here. I cringe at the fact that there is stainless steel listed, but the blades looks good and seems your price range. These aluminum blades are what iaidokas (a Japanese sword style based on forms from draw-cutting to sheathing) and should be perfect for everything you mentioned. Just don’t start hitting/cutting things with it as this was not designed for that purpose. Anything that can really cut would start from $300 and up.(more reliable blades starts at $500) If you would like to do your own search then try the term iaido.

Paul Chen's 'Practical' Katana is a pretty no frills blade made by Hanwei Forge. Haven't used it myself, but I've only seen good reviews of it and it is literally designed for your situation.

Prices range from 200-400 dollars iirc, depending on where you buy and/or if there's a sale going on.

Hope that helps.

try handmadesword.com they have some nice swords at reasonable prices.i got my katana there for $120

Hey guys,

So I was looking to buy a decent katana for around $100-200. Now, I realize that a $100 katana is not authentic, and wouldn't be able to cut through anything. I'm just looking for a nice sword I can use in kata competitions, seminars, and just to practice with at my dojo. Know any good sites? Canadian websites preffered, thanks!
