What is the best advice you ever received in bjj?

There are a couple "practise shrimping above all other things"

"A white belt is the most dangerous person to roll with" <-- gods honest truth, they are so dumb they are dangerous.

"Never leave your elbow too far from your body" <-- haha good advice

"for the first 2 years just worry about positions and sweeps rather than submissions"

there have been too many to mention but 2 things my father always said to me but mean pretty much the same thing were "How you train is how you fight" and "crying at training means smiles on the battlefield"

i have lived by them all my life

Take a real martial art instead of an incomplete sport crap one like bjj

The best advice from my bjj coach was don't take bjj its a fraudulent art

i didnt receive advice but i learned one thing: before training i feel stressed and energetic, after training i feel distressed, fulfilled and like i have learned something what makes me happy and satisfied. I dont like training as training because it can be hard, painful and sometimes i feel like i am going to die, but what makes me happy during training is that it makes me better person.

You never lose in bjj. You win or you learn.

Be a white belt all the times so you will learn everytime from the others

stay calm
