Should i do cheerleading?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I've never been a cheerleader. Now I'm a sophomore and next year I'll be a junior with my first year of cheer leading. We had 3 other meetings last week and i think the week before which i didn't attend to because I wasn't sure I wanted to do it. My friends encouraged me to so I came today. They were all doing a dance and a girl had to teach me some of it on the side. Then she taught me how to do jumps. I kept forgetting the moves because I was so nervous. Everyone looked so good and did it so fast to the music. I always thought cheer leading looked so fun and every year I wanted to do it but I was afraid to and now that I came today I'm not so sure I want to anymore. I almost started crying because I thought I was so bad. My friends said i didn't do bad but I think they're just trying to make me feel better. I don't know if it's because today was my first day and they all had the other days to practice or if I'm just not cheer leading material.

I think that if you want to do cheerleading, then you should go for it! You were probably nervous since it was your first day and since everyone else knew what they were doing. ;) Give it time and practice and you'll be able to succeed in it.

Hope that I helped and good luck!

You'll never know until you try it. Cheerleading is a wonderful sport, but it is more intense than it used to be. All I can say is practice, practice, practice. You will have to continually run through the moves and routine through your head. Then when everything clicks...you will wonder what you were so worried about. No one knows the routine or moves at the beginning of the year. Everyone has to work their hardest to get everything just right. You will work right along with everyone else. Some of the other girls have probably done cheerleading before, so the jumps and arm movements come naturally to them now. Don't be afraid to watch what they are doing and then practice those moves yourself. No one goes into cheerleading knowing everything they need to know. That is why you have coaches and lots of practice time. Take a deep breath and just work on what you know you need to work on. Then everything will eventually fall into place.

Cheerleading is so much fun, you probly felt you did bad but ur probly done good

, its natural to be nervous on your first day cause you don't know what to do. When I first started cheer I thought I was really bad but on my second week got in to my squads cheer team. Just keep going and practising, trust me it will get easier

You can't expect to be good the first day. I wasn't that's for sure.

Every great person started from the beginning, so why not try it? Who knows, you might be very talented cheerleader. :)

GOOD LUCK.
