I agree... That business about "stunting your growth" dates back to lies circulated about weight training way back around the turn of the century.
Nonsense.
However... You will accomplish little with a pair of 10-pound dumbbells. Not only is it not enough weight, but you will be very limited as to the types of exercise you can do.
You can pick up a nice, new, basic barbell set for well under 100 bucks at any big discount store.
Usually, you can get them cheaper than that at a thrift store, they often get them in as people quit or upgrade.
This will not stunt your growth, since breaking down and building up muscle do not affect your bones. 10 lbs is a good way to start, then when it gets easy, up it to 12, then 15, and so on.
No it will not stunt your growth that is a huge myth with lifting weights. You final height is based off genetics and genetics only.Yes it is okay to start off with weights that are low, remember when you do your reps to do them slow.
Good Luck
It will not stunt your growth, what the hell people are idiots. It's not even scientifically proven. Anyways, ya I think you should lift, why? Well you wouldn't be a walking stick if you do.
