Why are they so jealous of us?
Well, the Chinese take toddlers from their parents and train them brutally for their whole young life to compete. Wouldn't you be upset if an American, who was given a semi-normal childhood, beat you at anything?
Sanity--you are dead wrong. China DOES take VERY young children away from their families (like, 3 and 4) to train them to be Olympians...they get no choice in the matter.
I kinda thought it was the other way around, although the Americans don't whine fortunately... It sounds like the US is jealous if China by accusing Ye Shiwen of doping with no evidence whatsoever. But this might not be all true... But it seems that the Russian gymnasts were jealous of the Fab 5 when they won gold medals.
China didn't/doesn't take away children although such lies were fed by American media. Like in most countries, many parents would like their children to join elite institutions - schools, sports academies, or whatever organizations - and hopeful parents would usually try to get their children to be in such programs.
Historically, and even now, the Chinese would never be jealous of other countries and they know that they have 5000 years of continuous and unbroken culture and had been a dominant, affluent and highly literate society for more than 2,000 years from 220 BCE to 1911 after the last Qing Emperor abdicated his throne. From the 14th to 19th century, China was the most affluent, dominant and culturally rich country and accounted for 30% of the world's GDP.
USA's 50 years of dominance is nothing compared to 2,000 years of China's, and nobody can predict whether USA's dominance could last another 50 years as it is inevitable that China will supercede USA in a mater of less than 3 decades from now.
A country assured of its own position/destiny in the world does not need phantom enemies. USA has lots of phantom enemies and tries ways and means to contain China's rise. This action alone tells us that USA is jealous and afraid of China. Therefore, if you are a well-travelled person, you would not find the same lies, misinformation and distortions employed by the Chinese media on America. However, US media distorts everything about China. It is pathetic because either the US media takes the American viewers as fools or US media wants to boost the ego of Americans by depicting others as very bad.
Cant say I've noticed any displays of overt jealousy by the Chinese, why would they feel jealous when they are doing so well? perhaps a little wishful thinking going on here?
