It isn't too late to start gymnastics. There are recreational and teen classes at almost all gyms. There is almost no chance of making it to the Olympics, however. The girls that are competing at that level are your age or a bit older. You could still possibly compete in JO, but your best bet would be to take classes and look into XCEL at a gym near you. XCEL is a competitive program through USAG that is a lot more relaxed than JO and offers the chance to create routines using skills you have instead of forcing you into learning predetermined routines with more difficult skills. One more thing to keep in mind is there are four events in women's gymnastics. What you can do on floor doesn't really matter. The real tests are beam and bars.
What i learned from life (lol) is that its NEVER too late. If youre really passionate and blahblah about Gymnastics then go for it! Work hard and make sure you can handle the challenges that will come. Also, ask yourself if this is what you really want because you still have your whole life ahead of you, sometimes our dreams from when we were a child gets in our head when were a little bit older and then we start asking ourself "what if" so make sure that gymnastics is not one of those "what if" for you
It is possible but it would be more difficult. Your experience would help. You would probably be older than most people at your level but if you can deal with that then I say go for it. Honestly you probably wouldn't be able to make it too far in a competitive sense but for more of just a fun thing to do then sure!
You still have a chance but you are going to have to work twice as hard to gain flexibility at ur age
competitive = yes.
to just learn it = nope.
