Sport is a formalised conflict between two or more players with defined rules and judging.
A race has lanes, united start, umpires, finishing line etc - cheerleading lacks any formal structure so is not a sport.
Cheerleading can take a lot of work and effort to perfect but its not a sport.
Yes, it was actually ruled a sport on 5/31/13. I'm pretty sure it only relates to all-star/competitive though.
Technically no. There are certain things sports qualify in to be considered a real sport. but in my mind, yes it is. It depends though. If you are talking about school cheer. no possible way. All star cheer. yes. School cheer is just girls yelling and jumping unless they are good. All star cheer is practicing hours a week, competing, and you have to have a lot of skill. and a ton of work is put into it. months.
