A ten bounce routine is competed. There is a starting mark of 10 from each judge from which point are deducted for errors according to an internationally agreed code of points. There are five form judges and the highest and lowest marks given are dropped to help avoid bias. A gymnast competes two routines, a set routine and a voluntary routine. The set routine, or parameters governing the set routine are specified by competition organisers and no marks are awarded for difficulty (tariff.) The gymnast is free to devise their own voluntary routine and receive a tariff score for it based on the total amount of somersault rotation and twist performed. In high level competitions a score for total airtime has also been introduced.
It should be noted that the gymnastics discipline trampolining bears little resemblance to use of trampolines as toys in back gardens or trampoline parks.
Well, there have been trampoline world championships held since 1964 and trampoline events in the Olympics since 2000.
