Is Marching Band a sport too you?????

Technically I'm pretty sure that it would be because it requires a great deal of practice, teamwork, and it is physically challenging at times. I found that band practices would sometimes be more challenging then other sport practices. (I play softball, soccer, basketball, and I'm on the track team as a runner and a jumper).

I would say yes it is a sport but I guess that some people would say no. But it's like the same question whether or not cheer leading is a sport. It all depends I guess on who you ask.

A sport and a rigorous physical activity differ in one aspect; competition. Who do you vs in marching band? When you go to the gym and lift weights you aren't competing with someone so it is not a sport, but a professional bodybuilder is competing which is why bodybuilding is considered a sport. I think that marching band is very technical and requires a lot of skill, but I wouldn't consider it a sport unless you're attacking the other team's marching band with your trumpets. :)

It depends why you want to know. If you want the same benefits that playing a sport can give you, than marching band would qualify - teamwork, physical exercise, mental challenge. But if, say, you are required to play a sport to get into a college you want or something like that, then, no, it would not qualify as a sport. It is not "officially" a sport.

I think it is a sport. Marching Band requires a lot of discipline, strength and teamwork. Not to mention the hours members rehearse outside in the blazing heat every week. At band camp last year at least a few people passed out the first few days. It's really a lot of work that goes into it and not a lot of people realize that.

Personally I don't. It's more of a musical interest. Apart from attending sports events to perform at intervals etc. I don't see it's link with sport.

TO, not too.

No, it isn't a sport.

pretty sure it is musical performance
