I want to join a high school sport?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I'm not very good at sports but i want to learn one. I have really bad endurance but i want to join swimming and I was also thinking of doing softball, tennis, soccer, fencing, or tennis. Are these sports hard to learn? My friend is in fencing and she says they teach you but i still dont know how to play and I dont want to quit a sport. I want something that is challenging but enjoyable. Do you have any suggestions...

btw i was also thing of flag football

You can build your endurance! Thats part of what physical activity is all about! I was in the same boat as you when I was a freshman in high school- not athletic, uncoordinated, not strong, but I joined the cross country team anyways because it was no cut. It was the best decision I ever made!! All of my close friends and good memories come from being on the team and my physical ability improved so much! And as a another poster said, if you join a sport do. not. quit. You might want to for the first couple of weeks/months but don't do it!! You'll regret it in the end and miss out on great opportunities!

Any (safe) sport is good, as long as you are committed and enjoy it. To become better at sports by learning techniques online and practicing with friends. If your family can afford it, get a personal sports trainer, at least while you learn.

Sports are a great way to have fun, become more fit, make friends, learn teamwork, and be a happier person, as well as have a skill that could get you scholarships and, if you're good enough, jobs. I do not recommend flag football, however, because once you are older, the only thing it can feed into is tackle football, which causes brain damage.

Well like u said above if u don't have endurance then I don't think that soccer, track, football are ur type of sport because u will have to always be constantly running and have very very good endurance. Well idk if u r a guy or a girl but if u are a:

Girl: try volleyball or bowling or tennis or gymnastics/dancing/ballerina thingy

Guy: baseball

But u would have to learn the rules and stuff about the sports and see which ones u like better.

And if u live in a cold weather place u could do ice scaring or skiing. Hope this helps :)

I consider Soccer and Basketball to be the most enjoyable sports. Soccer requires a lot of endurance and skill. So if you want to challenge yourself I would recommend soccer. If you do choose soccer I would also spend time learning how to dance. Especially work on your footwork. I would recommend salsa since it uses a lot of hip movement. Also I would freestyle dance. But use your feet a lot. If you choose basketball I would recommend learning how to box. It improves your hand eye coordination. Or just buy a heavy bag and jab it repeatedly with both hands. If you do decide to tryout for basketball I would recommend buying a soccer ball and running with it at full speed and trying to control it as much as possible. When you run with a soccer ball you try to tap the ball as softly as possible and as a result your legs take shorter steps. Which helps in basketball because it's a small stage and you need short bursts of speed.

Join FFA or 4-h and show livestock you can show ( cattle, hogs, sheep , goats , horses) . To begin with show a goat they are pretty cheap and easy . Showing is highly competitive ask a Ag teacher at school.

If your a girl cheerleading would be good but if your a boy then bagmitton is a good sport

colorguard (: it takes practice & not gonna lie it's not hellah easy but everyone becomes family & it's fun , especially comps !! look up eastlake high school winterguard on YouTube or you can look at field shows too haha I probs sound hellah confusing , sorry ! but yeah guard doesn't take endurance .. & when u watch videos u might think it's stupid but no one understands guard until you join ! haha but yeah I recommend you check it out ^.^

Just choose one that you think you'd enjoy. And whatever you do, NEVER quit the sport

Try playing each one and choose the one you like best.

What about golf
