Olympics, gold or silver?

In team events, everyone in the team gets a medal, but it only counts as one medal in the tables.

In boxing and judo, they give two bronze medals, to each of the losing semi-finalists. Both of those medals count in the medal table as they are nearly always to different countries.

It is possible, in some circumstances, for two competitors to be tied for a medal, so an extra one is awarded. This happened in the Men's High-jump this year - even after count-back it was tied, and they both got bronze medals. There has previously been a tie for the gold medal - in that cased they gave two golds, but not a silver. It seems that they limit it to three medals unless the tie is for third place, in which case an extra bronze gets added.

In team sports the members of the team all get a medal.

In boxing the losers in the semi finals get a bronze which is why there are two bronze medals awarded.

The coaches do not get medals in team sports, only the athletes, who all get the medal.

In medal counts the team medal only counts as one medal, not the total number given away.

Much like in the 4x100 relays, when a team wins gold for an event, it is counted as ONE medal on the table/tally. If not, it would become unfair and unjust because, say, for hockey which has teams of roughly 15, if all 15 medals were added to the tally it would change things way to dramatically

In boxing, the two winners face off, and the two losers face off. This leads to a gold, silver and bronze medal all given out.

Hope this helps.

If a team wins a gold medal, each team member gets a gold medal but it only counts as one medal for that country. For example, Misty May-Trainor and Kerry Walsh-Jennings each received a gold medal for women's beach volleyball, but Team USA gets credited for only one gold medal.

And yes, there is a bronze medal for every event. Here's how the semi-finals work: The two athletes (or teams) who lose in the semi-final round will compete against each other the next day. The winner receives the bronze medal.

No just one medal count on the tables, and the semi final people have like another match for the bronze :)

If a team wins gold, they each get a medal, but it only counts as one in the medal table.

In boxing both losing semifinalists get a bronze medal. In other sports, the losing semifinalists have to compete for it.

I believe it would count as 1 medal.

If there are 4 boxers, then there will be 2 fights. The winners of both fights fight for gold and silver. The losers of the first 2 fights fight for bronze and 4th.

It counts as one, there are a lot do countries out there who would feel so much better (or perhaps worse) if it was done per person....

In Vollyball if a team wins the Gold, does this mean that the whole team will receive gold medals and when it comes to the the medal table would that caunt as one golden medal or as many individual medals depending on how many players? For example 10 players - 10 gold medals

In boxing is there a bronze medal? In the semi-final there is 4 people so it's confusing
