How long are cheer tryouts?

I was wondering how long are cheer tryouts? When you go to tryout, how long do you stay? After you tryout, what do you do? Do you leave or do you have to stay? Sorry, I'm really scared and nervous. Thanks!

Your part in the tryout isn't very long. Typically, you'll do a cheer, chant and short dance. Also, you'll demonstrate your jumps and tumbling. Your time in front of the judges isn't long at all. It's really just a few minutes. What takes the longest is waiting for your turn. That's just luck of the draw.

Every school handles telling the squad differently. Some make you stay until everyone had tried out, then brings you back in for the announcement. Some give a certain time the list will be posted and you can stay or come back later to check the list. Others tell you to go home and wait for a call. Your school will have it's own way of doing things.

Good luck!

It really depends. You'll probably warm up and get a little time to do some last-minute practice before the tryouts actually begin. Like Jayna said, your time in front of the judges is not very long at all. Sometimes they will want to see the dance routine twice in order to watch different people, and look at consistency. You will probably have a cheer or chant portion, and they will sometimes have each girl do that individually so they can hear how loud her voice is and watch her motions. My school had us do jumps (we each did a toe touch, and then chose one other jump to do), and then we got to show any tumbling we had at the end. The whole process will be 10 minutes tops. Waiting for your turn is the longest part. Some schools want you to stay until everyone is done, but usually they won't have their decision made right then. We had to wait until they posted the results on the website. Good luck!

It really depends. Every try out is different. A lot of times you'll try out and wait for everyone else to try out then either you go home and get a call if you made it or after the try outs you find out right away if you made it.

My friends are cheerleaders and they said it's around two hours with warm ups and drills and everything
