Just go for it. Learn everything like pushing the board and find your stance (regular if your left foot forward, goofy if your right foot forward). Push with your back foot. Start off by just gently pushing off and just getting used to that sensation. Once you are comfortable going straight, try leaning left and right. Once you can do that, you can ride a skateboard. Remember to take it slow, you probably will fall but you'll find they are not as sore as they look, wear a helmet when your learning though. If you do far, try to roll off your shoulder or stick your forearm out. Try not to break your fall with your hands because its not good for your wrists and you can injure them very easily.
Take it slow and go for it. The more you stand around thinking something bad will happen, the more likely it will. Just believe in yourself, say to yourself, 'I can do this'. Once you overcome that, the possibilities are endless. Good luck :)
Honestly this is fear in skateboarding is really hard to get over. I think its something that every skateboarder struggles with no matter how long you have been skateboarding. But right now since you are just starting off just take it slow, wear a helmet, and just be confident. Good luck!
All great answers here but personally you have to lose the fear of falling down just get over that and you'll be a good skater
Just relax and learn it with small steps. There is no reason in jumping right in to it thinking you'll be professional at the first try.
