P2 decks are really awesome. (Flip, Plan B, Zero, Toy Machine, Mystery, Habitat, Santa Cruz, Skate Mental, Creature). Also Real Skateboards makes a Low Pro Deck that is light and has killer pop. Check out http://bestskatedeck.com to find the best deck for you. You can sort a chart by what you're looking for in the deck.
Take it easy!
I would go with the new boards that are guaranteed not to break. I had an amost impact proof board and i snapped it in 3 weeks and they gave new a new board for free. Check out the impact support boards, or if your on a budget get a blank deck, they are almost just as good :)
I use plan b. I think it's really durable and I tend to be really rough with my boards, I bang them on the ground, throw them, and drag them lol.
ive rid nothing but girl for years with thunder trucks, spitfire wheels, and red bearings and it is extremely smooth and comfortable to ride
