Bone density is a mater of good health, marrow, and strong kidneys. Having dense bones isn't going to make you a better martial artist, or take more damage. Regardless of bone strength, pain is pain. It's your mind that produces most of our physical endurance. Focus and concentration means a lot.
The goal in martial arts isn't to get hurt. If you're putting taking hits over avoiding hits in your training, then you've got something very wrong.
Just keep training and sparring, as well as being healthy, and everything will come around. I think you're looking at all this in the wrong way. You could have a steel skeleton and your @ss can still get badly whooped if you lack the training.
Please do not inflict damage on your own bones!
I used to suffer from mild osteoporosis, but my bones have gotten considerably harder since I've made certain changes to my lifestyle.
One of the reasons I suffered from osteoporosis is because I'm lactose intolerant. That means I can't drink milk, eat cheese, etc.
So I took a college course on dietary health, and I asked a lot of questions about how to make sure my bones got stronger. And I learned A LOT.
Did you know that early astronauts suffered from osteoporosis? They didn't understand why, at first, but whenever they'd send people to the moon, they'd come back with thinner, flimsier bones.
Now we know why...
In space, you are weightless, so you don't actually NEED bones. You could be made of only cartilage and you could move around just fine.
What they found counteracted this problem was intense daily exercise. If you exercise a lot, your bones get stronger! Now that scientists understand this and apply it to our space programs, astronauts no longer return from space with osteoporosis.
Another thing that damages bones is soda pop (Coke, Pepsi, root beer, etc...), so you should avoid drinking sodas.
Like I said, these lifestyle changes--exercising 30 minutes a day and not drinking any soda pop--have helped me increase my bone mass.
Harming your own bones is a BAD idea. Just google Evil Knievel and you'll see why.
1st: Don't drink milk a lot, there's a lot of hormones... for cows. Not for humans in there. It's not good.
2nd: Everyone's bones is already as hard as concrete(As long as there are muscles)
3rd: Try using google.
Lift weights.
Most ways will screw up your body when you get older
Strengthen your muscles instead you are far better off
I do martial arts and i want to harden my bones so that my body can take more damage. I already drink a lot of milk for calcium and vitamin D which harden bones. I think that you need to inflict mild damage on your bones and then your bones will heal back harder than before. I am not entirely sure what to do though and i would like an answer from someone who knows what they`re talking about. So what do i need to do to harden my bones?
