For a strong defence and being un-beatable, try Muay Thai, real Muay Thai fighter can kick and break a baseball bat. Their bone are solid once they finished. Im just half of both of it. I got a good reflex and my fighting skill are muay thai. Anyway, they are the only martial art i really know. I dont know about akido.
karate is good all round, a lot of good fighting techniques but also a few good trips and grabs in some styles that could be used to disable an opponent, not to mention pulse point techniques that can render them incapable of attack
mma is best , it means mixed martial arts theres not a pure style that can beat it cause we know multiple styles. mma is sport that does its best to be as close to a real fight as possible
Sprinting is surprisingly effective, and also removes you from any area where policemen may start to ask awkward questions.
Im looking for a fighting style to learn and practice that is more defensive but still with practical uses. Like i dont want to use this and go out and break peoples noses for the pure reason of being a d**k.
Ive always been interested in fighting styles that flow and look smooth, i have this problem were i feel really helpless sometimes and i just want something that if it came down to it i could defend myself without smacking the crap out of them. So a style that i can disable someone without just completely wrecking them, but if need be a little bit of disabling damage. I did some research on Akido and it looks like a decent style but using it in a real situation is impossible, when having punches thrown at you its basically useless
