im a short guy and just in case I will end up in a fight how can I put more force into punches kicks etc im 5'3 and a little skinny

Anything is possible and at any moment you can trip in a scimish fight or you can fall back wards its most important to learn to plant the foot and eat well cause you should learn most of you martial arts to ten percent grappling and the other 90 percent technique is striking with the fist and foot so straight tiger punch is one , slap back hand chop to thorkick neck , clench once a law long long time and lots of kicks like taekwondo and some muaythai and to condition the heart not because food is not organic really.

I'll tell you this from the perspective of a taller guy - there's two kinds of short guy that I have trouble with, the in-out speedy fighter and the little aggro monster, out of the two I find the most trouble with the aggro, he gets inside my reach and stays there hammering at things I struggle to toughen and condition, on top of that I have good knee strikes and still have trouble generating power and leverage with someone so close and so short.

The in out fighter poses much the same problem but he willingly lets that position get away so he can use powerful strikes himself. If I stay calm and fight smart sooner or later I will catch the in-out fighter in my power zone and he's going to suffer for it.

My advice is nut up, get in there and practice staying in there as often as possible. Force your bigger opponents to backtrack so they can't get a decent shot at you.

this is something your never going to learn online, BUT

theres a simple solution: join a jiu jitsu gym, and learn ankle locks, arm bars, sweeps, take downs, chokes, and maybe some mma for ground and pound.

the truth is, as a smaller guy, you have less reach, plus its harder to punch up than down. you would have to be be good with your hands and have quick footwork and head and waist movement to avoid punches. it would help you, but all of that takes alot of time and training to learn. jiu jitsu is easier, and much quicker to learn (in a practical sense), and for someone of your size it evens out the playing field. if you really want to learn to defend yourself, learn a martial art, preferrably boxing, muay thai, wrestling, jiu jitsu, etc. if you want to learn to defend yourself quickly and more effectively, learn jiu jitsu. its the way to go, trust me i know what im talking about

I'm about the same height and probably skinnier that you are. Just keep your fist up, stand at a sideways angle, plant your feet on the ground, and use as much power to your fists as you can.
