How can I get better at sports?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I'm actually so terrible at sports. Whenever I have to play in PE everyone just laughs at me because I can barely even kick the ball in football. I'd like to learn sports but I've never really had the chance. I'm 15 and this is so embarrassing. I want it sorted within two months because I'm starting a new school who place a BIG emphasis on sports!

Thanks :/

you need to start exercising and stretching at home on your own to get in shape. Start with like 20 jumping jacks and 20 situps and 20 pushups a day (along with stretching before) and then go jogging. YOu need to create a set routine in order to be able to play a sport. After you get in shape, you start practicing the actual thing. So practice kicking the ball. A good exercise to do to strengthen your leg muscles is to do kicks in the pool. hang on to the side of the pool and kick your legs. Also, do that exercise where you lay flat on the floor and raise your legs a little bit off the ground and count to 20. Exercise basically is the key. You need to strengthen body in order to be good at sports. Look up specific exercises to strengthen specific parts. pushups are good for the arms, situps is good for the abdomen, the laying down and lifting legs thing is good for your legs, and jogging is good for everything. Also maintain a healthy diet! good luck!

Practice makes perfect. You may not believe so but the more that you play sports the better you will get even if it is slightly better it is further than where you started. I reccomend just taking a basketball and shooting for a bit everyday or practise catching a football or kicking a soccer ball. But whatever you do you will notice a difference. Dont get a whole team just get two or three friends and practice the essentials. Good luck in your endeavour and I hope that you do achieve your goal and become better at sports:)

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."-Michael Jordan

A person can almost learn anything on youtube. Don't feel too bad, there are people in wheelchairs that wish they could be as bad as you, but at least you are standing up on 2 feet.

Just keep practicing
